Procrastinators Unite!

I never used to be a procrastinator. I promise. In fact a lot of times in college my mantra was "Why put off until tomorrow what can be done today". Wasn't it Ben Franklin that said that? Anyway, those days have apparently left the building and bolted the door shut. You may recall when I posted my Goals for 2010 that one of my goals was to finish Parker's Baby Book. I am very proud to say that I have started writing in it! Yay! One page has a family tree and I distinctly remembered having a similar page in my wedding book. I figured the easiest thing to do was to get the wedding book out and copy the names. I know it's horrible that I don't automatically know the names of all the Great Grandparents. Sue me.

I proceeded to get the wedding book out. Being a day dreamer though, I can't just take something like that out and flip to the page I need and shut the book. Nope! I sat down, and opened it to page one and began to read the entire book. Do you know what I discovered? I NEVER FINISHED MY WEDDING BOOK! UGH! There were so many pictures that needed to be taped in and parts that needed to be filed in. Including, you guessed it, the family tree! So much for my wedding book being helpful!!! The thing that really gets me is I never wrote in gifts and who gave them to me. I think I have one list from one of my four showers. But other than that I hardly remember what most people gave me. Great. Granted, I've learned from my lesson and I am going to start writing the list of who gave what present to Parker in his baby book today. Or....tomorrow.

The Great Grandparents names? You gotta be kidding. I know one out of eight... Don't feel bad! Or should I feel bad now? I'll ask my parents... I got the feeling they don't know either though... oh no! I'll let you know ;-)

I tried to go to the Procrastinators Club meeting once. I meant to go, I really did. But I was late.

LOL Paul!
Felicia, my book looks the same, if it's not totally empty. I do plan to take the kids' baby books with us to China so maybe one day they will be done. You can always just add the list from the showers to the pages, no need to write it all ove again. TGI had the forsight to take my book with me to my wedding showers, the one the gests would sign at the wedding, so I never had to look for the lists.

My boys baby books are not complete either. I had very high expectations but at 22 and 19 I think it is safe to say they will not have complete baby books.

I laughed aloud about this. I am horrible at this too. I've got all these books started for the different branches of our family tree and they're all half finished. Someday I'll get around to completing them. And, I can tell you all my great-grandparents names. But, then again, I can also tell you my 4th great granduncle on my dad's side name too, bc I'm just kind of a nerd that way.

Brad! I thought you quit reading my blog! Yay! Glad you're back! And it doesn't suprise me that you know all those family member names since you're so into geneology! What's funny is I distinctly remember what YOU got us for our wedding thanks to the whole card and tape incident! lol!
